Ana L. Barnett, RICP®, AAMS®, CLTC®

RETIREMENT INCOME CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALTM

Ana draws on life experience and over 25 years of financial planning services to help clients clarify and prioritize long and short-term financial goals. Her knowledge in Retirement Income Planning allows her to help clients plan for and manage all aspects of their retirement.

As a former business owner, Ana brings a unique perspective and firm conviction that a comprehensive view of a client’s financial picture must be in place before effective financial advice can be given. It is the foundation on which her client service process is built, and customized financial plans are designed.

Ana cultivates a deep understanding of her client’s needs. She purposely takes the extra time to learn about their family, work, and dreams for the future. She works closely with them to help protect their life’s work while pursuing the financial independence desired for an enjoyable and comfortable retirement.

Prior to joining LPL Financial, Ana worked as a Financial Advisor with the Private Client Group at Smith Barney and at Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc.  After graduating from Vaal University of Technology with a degree in Computer Programing, Ana began her career in the financial services industry in South Africa, where she had immigrated to as a young child with her family.

Taking a pause from her work in financial services, Ana was self-employed as CFO and later President of a European business headquartered in Portugal.  She successfully steered the company through difficult and tragic circumstances after the death of her husband and partner.  Upon remarrying, she sold her company and moved to the USA, returning to a career in the financial services industry.

Ana knows firsthand that when faced with grief and uncertainty, clients need to make calm, strategic decisions for their future. Having faced the sudden death of a spouse Ana understands that only time eases the pain of grief.  She recognizes that a client needs thoughtful financial guidance and careful strategy to navigate a time when the future appears unclear.

Giving back to the community and supporting causes that are important has always been essential for Ana. She served on the New Jersey Advisory Board of Devereux, a nonprofit serving children and adults with special needs. There she was honored with the 2014 Deveraux Leadership Award. This award honors volunteers committed to furthering the mission of changing lives and nurturing human potential by inspiring hope, ensuring well being, and promoting meaningful life choices.

Her leadership, recruiting and fundraising efforts earned her Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals that same year. She also received a commendation from the State of New Jersey for her meritorious record of service and commitment to the special needs community.

Industry related, her efforts to provide stellar client service earned her recognition as a coveted FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award Winner (2016-2023).1
